W3schools AJAX Examle não funciona em máquinas locais
Estou tentando aprender AJAX e indo pelo tutorial encontrado neste site:

Eu copio o código html em seu site, e o coloco em um arquivo html na minha unidade local.:
Também copiei o " gethint.asp " ficheiro na mesma pasta. Todo o código é 100% o mesmo que eles têm em seu exemplo. Mas quando eu executar o arquivo html eu posso ver o campo de texto e texto, mas a funcionalidade asp não funciona de todo, e parece funcionar perfeitamente bem no thier site? O que estou a fazer de errado?

O problema pode ser que esteja a correr o ficheiro HTML no ficheiro: / / protocol. Tanto quanto sei, os ficheiros do servidor gostam .pai & .asp não funciona em file: / / protocol.
Se realmente quiser que isto funcione, tente configurar o Apache e coloque os seus ficheiros dentro da sua pasta do servidor. Se você está no Linux, é no /var / www, com outros sistemas operacionais eu não tenho tanta certeza.

Para fazer com que o código do lado do servidor funcione numa máquina local, terá de instalar um programa para processar o código. O programa que eu uso é xampp, aqui está um link http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html.
